Working with the Raspberry Pi

Well I have finally gotten down to business working with my Raspberry Pi.

The first thing I would note is that having a USB SD Card Reader is highly reccomended because to put it bluntly you may be like me and make some errors in your first run setting things up. First off unless you are buying only a 2GB SD Card the first thing you'll need to do is resize the partitions. The easiest way to do this is with gparted in Linux. You can move the swap partition to the end of the card and expand the main partition to fill the rest of the card. While it made me have to do things two or three times. I am glad that I did it because I learned how to do these things. Perhaps I might be able to sell some Pre-Made SD cards to people who dont know quite as much or arent willing to risk it.

The other issue is that I bought a powered USB hub without knowing I bought a dud... One of the crappy ones that dont really work all that well. I'll be returning it and looking for a new one. Now that I got my Pi working and such I need to start thinking of what to do about it. I was going to start a PirateBox but the need for a powered USB Hub somewhat makes it troublesome unless the Pi is connected to a power source. Making mobile installations difficult.
