Titre: 2010: Year in review and a look to the future Posté par: JasonCarr le 16 d�cembre 2010, 09:16:54 As 2010 comes to end in might be fitting to have a discussion about the past year and the events that have transpired as well as what to expect for 2011.
For the pirate party this seems like a banner year. We became a federally recognized party, had our first official leadership race and ran our first federal candidate(the first pirate party candidate outside of Europe, in fact). Pretty remarkable stuff I would say. The was a good year for platform issues as well. ACTA's threat was significantly diminished and Bill C-32 is struggling. Cablegate has shown the world the democratizing power of the internet and along with that the solidarity of pirate parties with wikileaks around the world. It really hard to think of a word to describe 2010 as anything but exciting. It wasn't all good mind you, C-50, 51 and 52 are looming as a serious threat to our privacy rights.
