I agree that it should be phrased more diplomatically. I'd just say that we want to eliminate legal enforcement of DRM.

Yeah. We aren't enabling people to do anything, we're just leaving it up to the content distributors to make digital locks that actually work, if they want to make digital locks.

There is no need wasting our tax dollars and law enforcer's time to enforce laws that are for the benefit of the few. These organisations have the resources to protect themselves.

Since there has been no indication this has been voted on yet I will make my own proposal for 'Version 3'

Version 3

- Flat 10 (or 15 if that is how we decide to do things) years commercial copyright
- Registration is encouraged but not required, registration benefits rights enforcement in court for commercial copyright infringement.
- The registered copy placed in the care of the government must be free of any and all DRM encumbrance.
