Leadership

There are two councils who run the party: the Political Council and the Executive Board. The Political Council is a board responsible for the general public interface of the Party, this includes the power to speak on behalf of the Party, to set out Party policy, and to approve external communications. The Executive Council is responsible for the general affairs of the Party.

Both councils are elected annually by the General Membership to a one year term. The most recent Political Board election ended on February 22nd 2012.

The Political Council and The Executive Council meet every Sunday  at 7:30 PM EST online at irc://irc.pirateparty.ca in the channels #canada-pc & #canada-meetings. As part of our commitment to democracy both internally and externally, anyone is welcome to attend and watch the meetings in progress, although only Council members can participate. (You will need an IRC client to attend.)
