A special all-party meeting will be held on Nov 1st at 8:00 PM EDT (midnight UTC) in #canada to approve Jeff Coleman as the candidate for Winnipeg North.

This meeting was required to be called at some point next week as an election is ongoing in the Winnipeg North riding.

Does this person have sufficient capital to invest in their own running or does the party have to fund it?

Candidates can only invest in their own campaigns subject to the limits imposed by Elections Canada on all donors. But no, he won't be investing in his own campaign, and we will be covering some costs. Hopefully he'll be able to raise additional funds over the course of the campaign.

Also once the returning officer confirms Jeff candidacy it will make us a registered party, which allows us to issue tax receipts for contributions.

Giving 400$ is pretty much the best amount. 300$ will be applied as a refundable tax credit, so you only pay 100$ in net.

A $300 tax credit is not the same as $300.

Yes but it's also 300$ we can use to fight for our freedom.

It's worth adding that Jeff Coleman was elected 47-1. Congratulations Jeff in being our third candidate and the first to stand for election!

Is Jeff even on this forum? I don't see him here at all
